SAT. 6 SEPTEMBER. Devon Dowsers Field Trip to Tarr Steps.

Directions: On the B3223 mid-way between Dulverton and Exford, take the lane leading West, signposted to Tarr Steps and Liscombe. The car park is about a mile and a half from this junction. From the car park, it is a short walk down the hill to the river and the Tarr Steps. A map can found by clicking HERE.
Lunch can be either at the public house or a bring your own picnic.
This visit will be something new for Devon Dowsers, as there is little known about what dowsing opportunities can be found here, although it is an ancient road and river crossing of some signifcance and history. In any case, it is a beautiful place with a most pleasant walk along to the next bridge a back along the other side of the river.
TUE. 9 SEPTEMBER. Group Meeting - Speaker: Peter Gibson.
Title: "Archæological Dowsing"
The talk will include reference to a recent dowsing survey and excavation of an Iron Age site in Gloucestershire.
Peter Gibson is vice chairman of the Slimbridge Dowsing Group, which is a fairly new group under the direction of Peter Golding. The Group is very active in all aspects of dowsing and is affiliated to the British Society of Dowsers. For more information about the Group, visit their web site by clicking HERE.
TUE. 14 OCTOBER. Group Meeting - Speaker: Rev. Louis Baycock.
Title: "A parson thinks the unthinkable"
The Rev. Baycock has been dowsing for some time, including in church, and has been the parson at Chagford. Although his talk is still in preparation, his theme is likely to include his dowsing experiences, with particular reference to dowsing in church and its possble implications. He may also venture to answer (and explain the meaning of) the question "What if we've got it all wrong?
TUE. 11 NOVEMBER. Group Meeting - Speaker: Nigel Twinn.
Title: "One World Dowsing"
Nigel is Chairman of Tamar Dowsers and has agreed to come and share his experiences of dowsing around the world with us. And he really does mean share, because he expects to hear from us about some of our experiences of dowsing away from home. For example, many of us have been dowsing in Britanny with Devon Dowsers and have many a story to tell, some of them even include dowsing. As Nigel has travelled far and wide, he will be able to include some experiences of places rather different from those most of us are accustomed to. He will also be willing to mention some of the activities of Tamar Dowsers to give us ideas for our future programme.
